It was the Urban Warriors, who made a bright start, making the early inroads towards the home side’s goal.

Spurs broke the deadlock as early as three minutes into the showdown, thanks to Ashley Cupido‘s goal.

The match calmed down a bit as the half drew on, as the hosts were starting to settle into a rhythm of the game.

The complexion of the game took a different direction with the Citizens moving forward in numbers.

Eric Tinkler’s side managed to find an equaliser in the 33rd minute, courtesy of Darwin Gonzalez who scored from the spot kick.

Back out for the remaining half, the hosts came out guns blazing looking to turn things around and add to the scoreline.

The intensity of the match in the second stanza showed how much both sides wanted to walk away with the bragging rights.

Spurs, on the other hand, continued to struggle to threaten the hosts’ goal-minder.

But the Citizens had a couple of chances to bury the game but failed to capitalise on their clear-cut opportunities.

Whereas Spurs’ technical team threw on all their trusted weapons they had on the bench. This was because Spurs desperately needed to register their first win of the season.

In the 70th minute of the match, Khanyisa Mayo gave City a lead.

Mayo did not stop there as he completed his brace in the 86th minute. This was Mayo’s third goal of the season.
