Ntseki identifies positives despite loss to Cape Town City

Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki insists there were still positives to take home despite the disappointing loss to Cape Town City on Tuesday evening in a DStv Premiership clash.

Chiefs suffered their first home defeat of the season after the Citizens beat them 1-0 at FNB Stadium with a Khanyisa Mayo second-half goal.

Amakhosi remain seventh in the DStv Premiership after nine matches, 13 points below leaders Mamelodi Sundowns who have played one match less.

But despite the defeat in front of their home fans, Ntseki believes there are positives but they only failed to convert their chances.

“One in terms of our build up I think we did very well, ” said Ntseki.

“In terms of the plans in nullifying their strength I think we did very well because when you look at Cape Town City, they will always be looking for the space behind the defence. Mayo will be piling off all the time and they are looking to have more crosses coming in.

“So we stopped any of that happening, that is what we were more on the ball, so we relegated them to kick the ball forward and the pressing was very good whenever they had to start playing from the back. So I think those were the positives,” he said.

AMAKHOSI NOT TAKING THEIR GOAL-SCORING CHANCES

“The other positive that we can also highlight is that we created chances. As much as we were not as aggressive as we would love to be.

“But I think we created chances and when you look at the quality of the chances we created, those were the Chances to win us the game. But unfortunately on the day, we couldn’t convert those chances,” he said.

Amakhosi will be away to Golden Arrows in a DStv Premiership on 28 October.
