PSL announces Carling Knockout prize money and Last 16 details

The Premier Soccer League has announced the prize money and fixture list for the inaugural Carling Knockout Cup.

The Cup which was launched earlier this week is set to kick-off on Wednesday, 18 October with a clash between TS Galaxy and Mamelodi Sundowns.

CARLING KNOCKOUT CUP PRIZE MONEY REVEALED

The league has since revealed that the winner will take home R 6 600 000 plus a R 250 000 participation fee.

The losing finalist will walk away with R2 600 000 while the semifinalists will win R 1100 000 for their efforts.  Each team will get R600 000 to reach the quarter-final stage and R 300 000 for the last 16. 

The league has also released the fixture list of the competition.

The winner of the competition will battle it out with a Carling All-Star team that will be selected by the fans. The one-day match will take place on 6 January 2024 at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. It replaces the old Carling Black Label Cup.

The coach of the All-Star team will come from the 15 DStv Premiership teams who did not win the competition. One of the biggest talking points is the Man of the match prize money. A player will walk away with R 100 000 for the award voted by the fans.
