Another coaching change at Venda FC
Following the recent departure of Joel Masutha, Motsepe Foundation Championship side Venda FC have parted ways with another coach.
Masutha resigned from the club after the 5-1 loss to Maritzburg United earlier this month. He was replaced by the club’s technical advisor, Johnny Ferreira, who is in his second stint at the Louis Trichardt-based club.
In his resignation letter published by the club, Masutha said he did not want to drag the club down the drain.
“It is with great regret to inform you that I’m resigning from the head coach position with immediate effect. I’m not greedy and I don’t want to drag the team down the drain,” read the statement from the club quoting Masutha.

FARPost has now gathered that Masutha’s assistant and former PSL player Morgan Shivambu has also left the club. Shivambu worked with Masutha at Black Leopards for a long time, but both left last season. The 41-year-old Shivambu joined Venda FC at the beginning of the season when Masutha was appointed permanent head coach.
WHO WILL REPLACE MORGAN SHIVAMBU AT THE MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP SIDE?
The club is yet to officially announce his replacement. But the names of Ricardo Moriri and Benson Mhlongo have been mentioned. Moriri worked with Ferreira at Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila. He is now an assistant coach at Limpopo ABC Motsepe League side Mpheni Home Defenders.
Mhlongo was recently appointed head coach at Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League club Kanyamazane All Stars.
Venda FC are in desperate need to get out of the Motsepe Foundation Championship basement. They have won just once in seven matches and collected five points, tied with Milford and Platinum City Rovers.
They are set to travel to Milford and high-flying Orbit College when the league action resumes after the FIFA international break.
