AmaZulu key player to miss Chiefs CKO clash
AmaZulu FC will be without one of their key players when they square off against Kaizer Chiefs in the Carling Knockout clash.
The two sides will meet in the Last 16 on Saturday, 21 October at 6:00 pm at the FNB Stadium. They will be clashing for the second time this season having already locked horns in the DStv Premiership.
Amakhosi got the better of Usuthu with a 3-0 scoreline in the same venue in August.
Both teams have had an inconsistent start to the season. Chiefs have collected 11 points from nine games while the KZN outfit has picked 10 from eight matches.
AMAZULU KEY PLAYER ABBUBAKER MOBARA NOT AVAILABLE FOR KAIZER CHIEFS CLASH
AmaZulu will have to make do without their utility player Abbubeker Mobara who’s suspended. The 29-year-old received a red card in their last match when they lost 2-1 to Moroka Swallows.
Mobara has been one of the key players for Pablo Franco Martin’s side this side. The Spaniard has been utilising him as a defensive midfielder lately since the arrival of Taariq Fielies.
For replacement, Martin has to look at the likes of Ben Motshwari and Tercious Malepe.
The former Orlando Pirates midfielder, Motshwari made his debut in the last match against the Dube Birds. He came on in the second half after Mobara was sent for an early bath.
On the other hand, Malepe has made five appearances this season, starting four matches and coming on from the bench on one occasion.
OTHER CARLING KNOCKOUT CUP SUSPENSIONS
Meanwhile, Cape Town City will be without the services of their defender Brice Ambina when they take on Golden Arrows on Saturday.
Vusi Sibiya of Moroka Swallows won’t be in action when the Dube Birds and Richards Bay face off on Sunday while the Natal Rich Boyz’s Sinethemba Mngomezulu will also be watching from the stands.
And Thulani Hlatshwayo won’t be available when SuperSport United face Polokwane City on Sunday.
