Mabhuti Khenyeza – No need to ‘buy new suit’ for Kaizer Chiefs clash

Golden Arrows’ next DStv Premiership outing will be against Kaizer Chiefs and Mabhuti Khenyeza has spoken on how they’ll be preparing for the match.

Khenyeza was speaking during the Carling Knockout Cup Launch last week. Both clubs will play the knockout matches on the upcoming Saturday, 21 August before they face off in the league next week.

Chiefs welcome AmaZulu FC at FNB Stadium while Arrows host Cape Town City FC at Mpumalanga Stadium.

The Arrows coach, Khenyeza says they will give the Soweto giants “no special treatment”. He feels they would be shooting themselves in the feet if they approached Chiefs’ clash differently.

“It’s a good team, Chiefs and you can’t motivate players when they play Chiefs, they are already motivated,” Khenyeza told the media during the Carling Knockout Launch.

“There’s no coaching that you can do for players [when they play Chiefs]. They always want to play against Chiefs.

“Each and everyone that’s there wants to play Chiefs. From my side, it’s the same team, there’s no special treatment. For Chiefs or for [any team].

“Now, you can’t change and then do something [new]. I’ve seen some people doing it. They want to prepare [for Chiefs match] differently and act in a different way.

“Even going and buy a new suit just because you’re playing Chiefs.

“Yes it’s Chiefs but the danger if you prepare for them in a special way is you will always face challenges

“But if you prepare in the same way as others if you want to go to them, go to them with the same approach as [when you face other teams].

“There’s no special treatment for Chiefs. It’s 11 players and 90 minutes to play.”

Abafana Bes’thende have had a good start to the new season. They sit 2nd on the log standings with 17 points after eight games.

Meanwhile, Chiefs, who are eighth on the table, have managed to collect 11 points from nine matches.
