Pablo Franco addresses Morgan Mammila’s claims of ‘insults’

AmaZulu FC coach Pablo Franco Martin has had his say, responding to Morgan Mammila who claimed to have been insulted by the Spanish tactician.

Usuthu and Chippa United played out to a 1-1 draw in the DStv Premiership match on Saturday at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

While the officials flopped on the day, there were heated moments at times. And the Chilli Boys coach Mammila claimed that he was insulted by Martin.

WHAT MAMMILA SAID ABOUT PABLO FRANCO MARTIN

“I’m just disappointed when a coach from an opponent insults at me,” Mammila told SuperSport as quoted by iDiski Times.

“I’m too old to be insulted by another coach. But that’s another story for another day.

“I was talking to the referees, then, I’m even ashamed to say what he said on TV. But I was not taught like I should say the same thing.

“My grandmother would be angry at me if I say those kinds of words. She taught me very well. So where it comes from if those kinds of words you can say to everyone, but I’m just disappointed.”

Now, Martin has declared Morgan Mammila’s claims untrue, saying he has never insulted a colleague in 23 years of his career.

PABLO FRANCO MARTIN SAYS HE DIDN’T INSULT MAMMIILA

“I want to kill this because it’s not good for football that we’re talking about it,” said Martin during the media open day on Wednesday.

“But as you have asked, I want to take advantage and say something because we cannot allow anyone to say anything that is not true.

“When someone is going and lying, saying things in an opposite way. I can tell you that I am a well-educated guy. And I thank God for the parents I have and the education they gave me.

“I can tell you that in 23 years of my career, I have never insulted a colleague. There’s tensions sometimes yes, this is football but never insulting. And when somebody is lying and taking advantage and saying things that probably he was the one saying and not me, I have to defend myself.

“I was raised in values and the same values I’m trying to take to this team. For me, respect is key and from there this situation is over…we keep playing this game.”
