Bernard Parker spills beans on unpleasant Chiefs exit

TS Galaxy forward Bernard Parker has made shocking revelations about his exit from the Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs.

Parker parted ways with Amakhosi in June 2022 after spending 11 years at the club.

During his stay at the Glamour Boys, the 37-year-old veteran striker scored 64 goals in 359 games. The talented goalscorer wore the captain armband for Chiefs for two seasons before his departure.

‘Die Hond’, as he’s affectionately known, did not beat around the bush as he spilled the beans on what transpired before his departure at the DStv Premiership giant.

“I was told to go on holiday and then come back and tell them [Chiefs] what I want to do,” said Parker on Metro FM on Thursday night.

“I came back and told them what I wanted to do. But I never heard anything back from them. That’s when I had to make certain decisions because I have a family that I need to look after.”

‘EVEN OTHER PLAYERS LEFT THE SAME WAY’

Parker did not stop there, as he further revealed that other players left Chiefs the same way he did.

“Even players that left Chiefs the same way that I left, said ‘Ha, you’re one of us, we thought you would stay on in another role at Chiefs’. Even I was surprised with how things ended at Chiefs,” added Parker.

However, the former Bafana Bafana international went on to say that he has moved on from what happened when he left Chiefs.

“I acknowledge that I was done wrong at Chiefs but I moved on,” said ‘Die Hond’.

The Rockets striker Parker recently obtained a CAF C Coaching Licence.

“I have tried to take on as much as possible in terms of studying [football and sport-related studies] and preparing myself for life after football,” he stated.
