Rob Moore reveals two ideal candidates for Chiefs coaching role

Renowned football agent Rob Moore has identified two coaches whom he believes possess the necessary qualities and expertise to lead Kaizer Chiefs to renewed success.

Chiefs are reportedly searching for a head coach to take over from Molefi Ntseki, who was shown the exit door at Naturena last month.

Faced with mounting pressure from disgruntled fans, who resorted to throwing missiles at Ntseki on several occasions during the 2023/24 PSL season, Chiefs’ management made the difficult decision to terminate the contract of the former Bafana Bafana mentor.

Cavin Johnson, who initially joined Amakhosi as head of academy in September has since assumed the coaching position on an interim basis.

In the new season, the Soweto giants have won four games in the DStv Premiership with two draws and six defeats in 12 matches. They are sitting 12th on the log with 14 points accumulated.

Amakhosi have already missed out on two domestic trophies this season after being eliminated from the MTN8 semi-finals early in the season by Mamelodi Sundowns. They were also knocked out of the Carling Knockout Cup Last 16 by AmaZulu FC last month.

TWO COACHES SUITABLE FOR THE KAIZER CHIEFS JOB

“I think Pitso Mosimane has to get to a point where he probably says ‘I made enough money, now I want to have one last project’,” Moore said on the This Is Football Africa podcast on YouTube.

“For me, there are two South African coaches who could do a job at Chiefs, Pitso Mosimane and Benni McCarthy.

“Benni because of his personality, the respect that players have got for him. His ability to manage the dressing room. Also, his ability to make calls during the game.

“When you talk about Pitso and Benni, two very strong characters and they want things done properly. Their tolerance level is low when things are not done properly, is Chiefs 100% ready for that?” Asked Moore.

Mosimane is currently unattached as he recently parted ways with UAE Pro League side, Al-Wahda while Benni is the Manchester United strikers’ coach.
