Sergio Almenara reveals Pirates’ expectations ahead of Richards Bay tie
Orlando Pirates assistant coach Sergio Almenara has revealed the Buccaneers’ expectations ahead of their DStv Premiership tie against Richards Bay.
The Sea Robbers will take on the Natal Rich Boyz at King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday, 25 November 2023. The kick-off is at 15h30.
After the 12-day international FIFA break, the Soweto giants are gunning for positive results in their quest to chase Mamelodi Sundowns for the league title.
The ‘Happy People’ are going through a challenging period due to injuries, as most of their key players are out of action.
However, Pirates have to navigate their way to see how they have to deal with with their long injury list.
The Jose Riveiro-coached side’s busy fixture schedule is what resulted in numerous injury setbacks within the team.
Captain Innocent Maela, Sipho Chaine, Makhehlene Makhaula, Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane, and Azola Matrose are some of the players on the sidelines due to injuries.

“We have had a really good week with a lot of content to work on. I think the team is going to perform well because we have been developing confidence to perform in a good spirit and speed.
“Expectations are that we are going to perform really well and win the game to get three points.”
