SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt admits the current DStv Premiership has been inconsistent and a lot can still change halfway through the season.
Hunt was speaking ahead of United’s Tshwane derby clash against rivals Mamelodi Sundowns at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday.
Despite Cape Town City currently occupying the top spot above Sundowns and United, Masandawana still have five games in hand and are just a point behind.

Sundowns have not played a league match since 27 September when they beat Stellenbosch 3-1 at home. The record DStv Premiership champions have been engaged in continental football, in the African Football League and Championship league as well as the Carling Knockout domestically.
But despite that, they remained at the summit of the DStv Premiership until only this past Sunday when City leapfrogged them.
“The league is a bit of a fuss at the moment, isn’t it? One has played eight, one has played 13, one has played 12,” said Hunt.
“So there is no consistency. They are in the pound seats Sundowns because no one has gone past them. [Cape Town City] only passed them now.
“They have five games in hand or something so, jeez it’s one game that one can understand, but five games? C’mon. It’s a bit unrealistic,” he said.

“So we can’t worry about that. We got to worry about ourselves and try and concentrate on us.
“So it’s unfortunate, but we still have time. It’s only been halfway. It’s a long way to go and what’s going to happen between now and February? There are going to be a lot of changes. How teams prepare over that period, what they do and what they don’t do, and how you come back because things can change by February. It’s like a new season again.”
The match on Wednesday will also see SuperSport United return to Lucas Moripe Stadium for the first time this season. United have played the majority of their matches at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Limpopo with some hosted at TUT Stadium in Pretoria.
