The referee was wearing Sekhukhune’s jersey: Morgan Mammila

Chippa United coach Morgan Mammila has accused referee Cedric Muvhali of wearing Sekhukhune United colours following their loss on Wednesday.

The Chilli Boys suffered a 2-0 defeat to Banina Noko in a DStv Premiership clash at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The score could have been more if it was not for the many chances the home side missed during the match. But the turning point of the match was when Zuko Mdunyelwa received a second yellow card early in the second half which resulted in Chippa playing the better part of the half with 10-men.

WHY MORGAN MAMMILA ACCUSED THE REFEREE OF WEARING SEKHUKHUNE UNITED COLOURS?

Mammila claimed Muvhali made it difficult for them to compete but did admit Sekhukhune were the better team.

“The referee made it difficult for us today. He was not on our side, you can see he was wearing a Sekhukhune jersey,” claimed Mammila.

‘Not even fouls on my players, no one got a yellow, but every time our player got touched it’s a yellow. But it’s one of those things you know. But I am not surprised because he just came back from suspension and he started with our game.

CHIPPA UNITED MAKING NO EXCUSES AFTER DEFEAT IN POLOKWANE

The charismatic coach conceded that the home side could have scored more goals after identifying their weaknesses.

“No excuse. I think Sekhukhune deserves to win after we went one-man down and it was difficult to chase,” he said.

‘You could see they were using our left-hand side which is their right-hand side. They should have scored more goals on that side. Congratulations to them and congratulations to Chippa United for making the effort.

“We will have to forget about this game as quickly as possible. We have another important game at home. They [Sekhukhune] were lucky they had some minutes, with its been two or three weeks without touching a ball and you could see that we struggled a bit but we will bounce back strongly.”
