What Dan Malesela wants to fix on Lifa Hlongwane

Baroka FC coach Dan Malesela reckons there are things that have been missed early in Lifa Hlongwane’s career that he needs to fix.

Hlongwane recently joined the Motsepe Foundation Championship side after a surprise departure from TS Galaxy.

He spent two seasons at the DStv Premiership side before an alleged fallout with coach Sead Ramovic. The 30-year-old has already made three league appearances at the Limpopo side under Malesela.

WHY BAROKA FC BROUGHT IN LIFA HLONGWANE

While explaining the reason for bringing Hlongwane on board, Malesela also believes there is a lot of work he still needs to work on with the former Black Leopards winger.

“It’s just a little bit of experience upfront and somebody who is able to help us play but also you must understand you cannot rely on Sithole alone. You can’t rely on him alone in case he can’t play then you have to have somebody who can play as a number 10 you know,” he explained. “But sometimes we can play with two 10s then we use him.”

WHAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED ON EX-TS GALAXY WINGER?

“He comes in handy, so I just think he’s got talent. It’s just that there are a few things that we missed early in his career that could’ve been fixed.

“So we want to get him to play and be more offensive. Be more goal oriented you know. It takes time but I’m grateful that the break is coming now. We will be able to fix some of these things,” he said.

“We just need to see if we can get maximum points from the last matches of the year and we work well for the coming year.”

Baroka are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Durban for a clash against newcomers Milford FC.
