Arrows issue update on Sicelo Hlatshwayo after injury scare

Golden Arrows have issued an update on defender Sicelo Hlatshwayo following an injury scare. It was reported last week that Hlatshwayo collided with a teammate at training, and was admitted to hospital.

It is further alleged that the former Polokwane City and Marumo Gallants player spent a few hours in the ICU. Head coach Mabhuti Khenyeza gave an update after the 2-1 loss to Orlando Pirates on Sunday.

POSITIVE UPDATE ON SICELO HLATSHWAYO FOLLOWING A HORRIBLE INJURY AT TRAINING

“Sicelo is okay. I think he will be back in training next week,” he said. “But there is nothing difficult. It was just that moment and later he was alright. But then we panicked over the fact that he went to the hospital and had drips. But it’s part of the process at hospitals.”

The player also issued a message on his social media platforms on Monday with a short message: “The power of God.”

The 29-year-old is in his second season at Arrows after joining in the middle of last season. But after enjoying some game time last season, Hlatshwayo has struggled to break into the team this season. There were also reports of an interest from Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.

MABHUTI KHENYEZA OPTIMISTIC OF A GOLDEN ARROWS TURNAROUND DESPITE RECENT POOR RESULTS

Arrows have not been in the best form of late with six straight defeats in all competitions. But Khenyeza insists they need to regroup and not dwell too much on the past results.

“We will just forget about the past games. We can only take things that we can rectify and take out the positives. Then move on from there because there is always a new game all the time and we have to prepare for each new game.

“It won’t help us to dwell on the last games because we don’t know what we are going to face next. We still have a long way to go, it’s a league and as much as we are losing there are also other teams losing too.”
