SA coach chooses Indian club Jamshedpur over Simba SC

A South African coach has jetted out of the country to India after opting for the Jamshedpur FC offer, snubbing the Tanzanian giants Simba SC who wanted him for an assistant coach role.

Jamshedpur ply their trade in the Indian Super League and have had a poor start to the season as they sit in 10th position on the table, third place from the bottom.

The Jharkhand-based club has secured the services of the South African coach Mandla Zwane as the assistant coach. As previously reported, Jamshedpur interviewed the former FC Porto and Orlando Pirates midfielder three weeks ago.

According to his camp, Simba also enquired about the 50-year-old and put an offer on the table.

They had a meeting in the midweek but it appears the Tanzanians couldn’t match was tabled by the Indian club.

He has been linked with several clubs in the Motsepe Foundation Championship including Milford FC who are being spearheaded by the club’s owner Xanti Pupuma.

During his time as a footballer, Mandla Zwane also turned out for Gil Vincente, SuperSport United, Maritzburg United, Penafiel, Selangor FC and Black Leopards.
