Sanele Barns opens up on Kaizer Chiefs links

Richards Bay winger Sanele Barns is one of the most wanted men in the PSL, with Kaizer Chiefs said to be tracking him.

The talented 26-year-old footballer has been phenomenal for the KwaZulu-Natal side and his stellar displays did not only get the interest of Chiefs but other teams in the SA top-flight.

So far, Barns has played 14 games across all competitions for the Natal Rich Boyz this campaign. He has scored three goals and weighed in with one assist in the process.

Given Barns’ impressive performance thus far, one can say the winger isn’t just a Richards Bay star player but he is a cracking package and workhorse.

SANELE BARNSA SPEAKS ON KAIZER CHIEFS RUMOURS

In an interview with FARPost, Barns has opened up to the rumours linking him to Chiefs.

“Well, obviously, I can see on social media platforms buzzing and stuff. But my only concern is Richards Bay for now because I’m representing Richards Bay,” Barns told this publication.

“So, Richards Bay is my home for now. Until it happens, then I can say okay, now is time for me to move. But for now, I’m focused on Richards Bay.”

Other clubs that are said to be chasing Barns’ signature are Carling Black Label Knockout Cup champions Stellenbosch FC and Limpopo outfit Sekhukhune United.

SANELE BARNS ON IMPRESSING KAIZER CHIEFS

With Kaitano Tembo’s side set to take on Amakhosi on Saturday afternoon [15:30], Barns reckons that he won’t be playing to impress the Soweto giants but to impress his side.

“No, I don’t play to impress them; I play to impress my team, the one playing for right now,” he added.

“So, I need to do well for myself and the team. For Kaizer Chiefs, is another thing, another story for another day.

“Taking the consideration that we are in the relegation zone, for now, when we play every game, we are playing to win, nothing else.

“We want three points. Obviously, we are playing against a very good side and a very consistent team recently. So, I think their morale is up, but we are up for a challenge.”
