Pentjie Zulu completes move to Eswatini club

Former Moroka Swallows defender Pentjie Zulu has signed for Eswatini club after being unattached for six months, FARPost has learnt.

The 33-year-old left-back parted ways with the Dube Birds in June last year, having spent one season with the club. He had featured in almost half of the number of games of the season, making 17 appearances in all competitions.

Zulu hasn’t been able to settle well at the clubs he has played for since 2021, spending less than two seasons at each. This includes spells with Sekhukhune United, Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila and Moroka Swallows.

Prior to the aforementioned stints, he also played for Blackburn Rovers, Jomo Cosmos, Bidvest Wits, Chippa United, Mthatha Bucks and Highlanders.

The left-footer has crossed borders to try and bring his career back to life as he has found himself a new home in Eswatini.

PENTJIE ZULU SIGNS FOR MBABANE HIGHLANDERS

Prior to signing for Highlanders, Zulu was reportedly training with Mbabane Swallows hoping to secure the contract. However, things took a twist with the Free State-born joining Highlanders on Friday.

At Mbabane Swallows, he was training alongside the former Chippa United trialist Kwakhe Thwala who’s been tabbed as the next big thing for Eswatini.

Zulu will be hoping to help his new side climb up on the table as they finished the first round in sixth position. They have accumulated 19 points in 13 matches are eight points behind log leaders Green Mamba FC.

Highlanders face Moneni Pirates in a league match on Sunday on the road at Mavuso Sports Centre.
