Xola Mlambo resurfaces at ABC Motsepe League side
Former AmaZulu FC and TS Galaxy midfielder Xola Mlambo has resurfaced at an ABC Motsepe League side as he continues his search for a club.
‘Ten Ten’ as he’s affectionately known, has been a free agent since parting company with Galaxy at the start of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.
Mlambo spent one season with the Rockets after joining the club during the 2022/23 season from AmaZulu FC. He featured in 25 appearances in all competitions at Galaxy and scored one goal.
The 32-year-old anchorman burst onto the scene in 2016 when he joined Chippa United from Motsepe Foundation Championship side Cape Town All Stars.
Mlambo went on to play for clubs like Bidvest Wits, Orlando Pirates, AmaZulu FC, and TS Galaxy in the SA’s top flight.
While Mlambo continues his search for a new club, the skilful midfielder has revealed the third-tier league team he has been training with to keep fit.
XOLA MLAMBO TRAINING WITH WITS UNIVERSITY
Mlambo is currently training with the ABC Motsepe League outfit Wits University FC to remain fit for his next move.
“I’m always welcomed to train with Black Poison [amateur team in Soweto], and now I was welcomed to train at Wits,” Mlambo said in an interview with FARPost.
“So I’m always welcome to come and train with the guys. It’s good because it’s been a while since I enjoyed myself in the field of play. So, going to Wits training with the guys brought out the greater love I have for football.
“I’m grateful for those people [at Wits] because they always avail themselves whenever I shout. They always raise their hands to want to see me doing good. So I appreciate their presence in my life.”
