Why futures of Sekhukhune United’s two new signings are uncertain
Sekhukhune United have made two signings in the January transfer window and the futures of the duo look uncertain.
The busy schedule saw Babina Noko go hard into the transfer market in the last PSL transfer window preparing for what was going to be a long campaign.
The Limpopo outfit has the CAF Confederation Cup duties in addition to the four domestic competitions this season.
They have taken part in MTN8 and Carling Knockout so far. And they have the league and Nedbank Cup to take part in before the end of the season.
With another opportunity for them to reinforce their squad, Sekhukhune have completed the signings of the Namibian international Edmar Kamatuka and Lesotho international Teboho Letsema.
SEKHUKHUNE UNITED CONTEMPLATING LOANING OUT TWO NEW SIGNINGS?
It appears the two players could be assessed by the club before they take decision whether to keep them or loan them out for the remainder of the season.
The Namibian youngster, Kamatuka was in the books of Namibian giants Stars of Africa and had been with the club for one and a half years.
The 21-year-old was part of the Brave Warriors’ preliminary squad for AFCON but couldn’t make the final cut.
Meanwhile, Letsema joined the Lehlohonolo Seema-led side from the Lesotho side Linare FC. The 21-year-old has one national team cap as he made his debut under Veleni Jelusic in September.
He was part of the team that lost 1-0 to Côte d’Ivoire and played 45 minutes of the match.
MORE SIGNINGS COMING?
Sekhukhune were heavily linked with Keletso Makgalwa who’s currently plying his trade at the Motsepe Foundation Championship side Upington City. And the former Golden Arrows goalkeeper Siyabonga Mbatha was also reportedly on their wishlist. It remains to be seen whether they make a move for the two.
Meanwhile, Kagiso Malinga who was also said to be on their radar has signed for Golden Arrows as first reported by FARPost.
