Donald Makgetlwa reunites with former club

FARPost has it on good authority that midfielder Donald Makgetlwa has reunited with his former club.

The 27-year-old footballer will get another chance to showcase his God-given talent after spending some time on the sidelines.

Before returning to his former club, the midfield maestro was training with Polokwane City with the hope of securing a deal with the Limpopo-based outfit.

DONALD MAKGETLWA BACK AT HIS FORMER SIDE

This publication can reveal that Makgetlwa has signed with Black Leopards ahead of the Motsepe Foundation Championship second round. This will be his second spell with the club.

Makgetlwa had cut ties with the side when Lidoda Duvha finished bottom of the log standings in the SA second tier last campaign and were subsequently relegated to the SAFA ABC Motsepe League.

However, Leopards made a return to the Motsepe Foundation Championship when they decided to buy All Stars status.

Makgetlwa has made 79 appearances across all competitions since joining Leopards 2017/18 season.

Leopards started the campaign on the wrong foot under the tutelage of the Spanish mentor Alejandro Dorado.

Following a string of poor results, the former Real Madrid youth coach was shown the exit door. He was then replaced by the ex-SA youth coach Solly Luvhengo.

As things stand, Leopards are placed ninth on the Motsepe Foundation Championship table with 23 points after 17 matches

The Vhembe-based outfit won seven games, drew two, and lost eight in the process.

BLACK LEOPARDS’ NEXT FIXTURE

Leopards will return to action on Wednesday, 14 February 2024 after the ongoing CAF AFCON tournament held in Ivory Coast.

Lidoda Duvha will lock horns with Pretoria Callies at home in a Motsepe Foundation Championship clash. The kick-off is at 15:00.

Makgetlwa will be expected to help Leopards stay in the league and hopefully with God’s grace try to qualify for the PSL Promotional Playoffs at the end of the season.
