Ex-Maritzburg United defender remains clubless after leaving Kosovo club
A former Maritzburg United defender is clubless after parting ways with the Kosovo club one month ago.
The January PSL transfer window closed last week with not many signings made as compared to the mid-year window.
However, there are free agents whose services are available and they can put pen to paper with any interested club.
FORMER MARITZBURG DEFENDER STILL CLUBLESS AFTER RETURN TO SA
The former Maritzburg United centre-back Happy Mashau is one of them after he parted ways with KF Trepca 89. He left the Kosovo outfit in December after a one-year stay at the club.
This was also his second stint with the club after he had a spell with them between September 2020 and July 2021.
He went on to turn out for KF Vllaznia before he had a stint with a DR Congo club DC Motema Pembe and then returned to Trepca.
Prior to moving abroad, the 26-year-old, Mashau had begun his professional career at Maritzburg United. He then joined Royal Eagles in 2017 before he switched to Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila in 2018.
His move to Kosovo came after the end of his second spell with the KwaZulu-Natal-based side Royal AM.
HE HAS TRAINED WITH SEKHUKHUNE UNITED
The defender was training with Sekhukhune United last month to keep fit while hoping for a contract. He’s since left the Limpopo club and has been seeking a new home.
In the same department, Sekhukhune had signed Mamelodi Sundowns defender Katlego Mohamme on loan until the end of this season. The Babina Noko also have an option to buy the 25-year-old if they are happy with his showings at the end of the campaign.
Sekhukhune also signed the Namibian international Edmar Kamatuka and Lesotho international Teboho Letsema to bolster their team for the second round.
