Royal AM star sent to train with DDC as contract renewal talks stall

Royal AM have sent one of their key players to train with the DDC side as the two parties are yet to reach an agreement on a new deal.

Thwihli Thwahla haven’t had an impressive campaign, mainly disrupted by the FIFA transfer bans that were imposed on them before the start of the season and in the mid-season.

This came on the back of the club’s failures to pay the monies owed to their former players Samir Nurkovic and Ricardo Nascimento.

They were handed the first ban in June last year after failing to pay R12 million to Samir Nurkovic and the second in January this year as they couldn’t pay R620 000 to Nascimento.

Two transfer windows have gone by without them making signings.

The club has been relying on the experiences of the players they had before they were charged by FIFA. They have also promoted several players from their reserve side to assist John Maduka build the team.

With the future uncertain, the club might have to put their optimum effort to keep the best players they have.

MOGAILA SENT TO TRAIN WITH ROYAL AM DDC TEAM AS CONTRACT TALKS STALL

FARPost understands Royal AM have been engaged in discussions with Shaune Mogaila for the new deal as his current contract is set to come to an end in June.

According to a source close to the club, the two parties have struggled to strike the deal. As a result, Royal AM sent him to train with the DDC side when the club returned to prepare for the second round.

As previously reported by this website, the 28-year-old has been on the radar of Orlando Pirates, Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu FC locally.

He is also thought to have been of interest to Egyptian giants Pyramids and Uzbekistan club FC Nasaf who were said to have enquired about the player.

Meanwhile, Thabo Matlaba is also one of the players whose contracts are expiring at the end of the season. Should Royal AM fail to resolve the FIFA bans, they could be in need of his services next season.
