Reyaad Pieterse lauds brotherhood amongst Sundowns players
Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse says the brotherhood within the Masandawana camp is second to none.
Pieterse is in his sixth season at the club since joining from neighbours SuperSport United.
Despite not being able to command the starting position, the 31-year-old has played a supportive role to his teammates.
Speaking on the club’s Pitchside Podcast YouTube channel, Pieterse has spoken about why he sees no problem with playing a support role at the DStv Premiership defending champions.
WHAT REYAAD PIETERSE LEARNT DURING HIS TIME AT CHLOORKOP
“The amount of things that I have learned being here, being with this group of people. Never giving up and just the brotherhood,” he said.
“Now, more especially, the brotherhood and the team comradery is second to none. It’s really good.”
HOW THE SUNDOWNS GOALIE WOULD LIKE TO BE REMEMBERED
Pieterse also reveals how he would want to be remembered in his football career.
“I would like to be remembered for just being a good person. For me, it’s cost me nothing to just greet you and shake your hand,” he added.
“Like I don’t need anything from you, and you don’t need anything from me. But just for when your head is down a little bit, just to give you a little extra bit of motivation and just to be a supporting structure for the next person.
“You never know what the next person is dealing with. Yes, I don’t play as many games as one would like, but I feel like I add a lot to the team for the guys whenever they need that. It’s nice to know that you add that value to the team,” he said.
“I don’t mind if I must be a water boy, I will be that, and I will give my best doing that. When the team wins, we all win.”
