Tercious Malepe signs short-term deal with DStv Prem club
Former AmaZulu FC midfielder Tercious Malepe has penned a short-term deal with a DStv Premiership club, having been clubless for over a month.
The 27-year-old parted ways with Usuthu in the mid-season, ending a two-and-a-half-year stay at the Durban-based club.
As previously first reported by this website, Malepe left AmaZulu because “he was not in the coach’s plans”, according to the club’s president, Sandile Zungu.
He departed, having made over 50 appearances and provided two assists during his stint.
TERCIOUS MALEPE SIGNS FOR RICHARDS BAY FC
Now, it is understood Malepe has signed a four-month contract with Richards Bay FC, a deal that will run out at the end of the season.
The club’s hierarchy brought him in an effort to bolster the squad as they are fighting relegation and looking to remain in the DStv Premiership in the next campaign.
He’s the second signing this year after they welcomed Khuda Muyaba, who also signed a short-term deal in January. According to the reports, the club has an option to extend the contract of the Malawian striker.
The Natal Rich Boyz also promoted four players from their reserve team. These are Ntlonelo Bomelo [striker], Thandoluhle Gazu [central midfielder], Siphesihle Buthelezi [attacking midfielder] and Sanele Zulu [centre-back].
All of them inked five years and will see their contracts come to an end in 2028.
Meanwhile, Richards Bay also announced the contract extension of their key defender and captain, Simphiwe Mcineka. He signed a new three-year deal that will expire in 2027.

Before the start of the second round of the season, Richards Bay made changes in their technical team, sacking Kaitano Tembo, who was their head coach.
They then roped in Vusumuzi Vilakazi as an interim coach tasked with saving the club from the jaws of relegation.
