Aubrey Ngoma resurfaces at PSL club
Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates winger Aubrey Ngoma has resurfaced at a PSL club as he seeks to revive his career.
Ngoma has been without a team for over six months since parting ways with SuperSport United in July 2023. This was after his contract with Matsatsantsa expired, and the club opted against renewing it.
Before joining SuperSport, the left-footed attacker had an unsuccessful two-season spell with Mamelodi Sundowns. He featured in 14 appearances across all competitions and only contributed one assist.
Ngoma made a name for himself at Cape Town City FC. His best season was during the 2016/17 campaign when he was named PSL Midfielder of the Season and Telkom Knockout Player of the Tournament.
The 34-year-old midfielder featured in over 100 matches for CT City in five seasons, scoring 18 goals while providing 24 assists.
The Hammanskraal-born star also played for Orlando Pirates from 2012 until 2015, but he only made 12 appearances for the Soweto giants without scoring a goal.
AUBREY NGOMA TRYING HIS LUCK AT AMATUKS
With the experienced attacker aiming to make a return to competitive football, this publication understands that Ngoma is training with AmaTuks.
Ngoma began his professional career with AmaTuks during the 2012/13 season before completing a high-profile move to Pirates.
“Aubrey Ngoma is the prodigal son of AmaTuks, and he’s loved and respected in the team,” a source close to the club told FARPost.
“So Ngoma has been training with AmaTuks. He’s using the club facilities to keep fit and be ready for the next move in his career.
“At this point, it looks like the team is just allowing him to train with the club to keep a good physical shape. But we know in football unusual things happen. A player like Harold Majadibodu recently signed with Tuks but they had said he’s only training to keep fit.
“So what I can say to you is that you can expect anything to happen because we know the experience and the qualities of Ngoma.”
