Percy Tau clinches eighth trophy with Al Ahly
Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau has clinched his eighth trophy with the Egyptian giants Al Ahly, adding to his glittering trophy cabinet.
The Club of the Century won the Egypt Cup on Friday evening downing Zamalek 2-0 in a match that took place at the Al-Awwal Stadium in Saudi Arabia.
Emam Ashour and Mohamed Magdy were on target scoring late goals in the 84th and 90+4th minute respectively, to help Ahly lift the trophy.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns winger, Tau was in the starting line-up and was subbed off in the 73rd minute when the 30-year-old Omar Kamal was brought on.

This is the second Egypt Cup that the Witbank-born has won in the North African country having lifted his first in the 2021/22 season. It’s his eighth trophy since he joined the side during the tenure of Pitso Mosimane in 2021.
During his time at the Red Devils, he has won three Egyptian Super Cups, the CAF Champions League, the CAF Super Cup, two Egypt Cups and the Egyptian Premier League title.
Tau’s trophy cabinet also shines with another Champions League trophy he won with Mamelodi Sundowns.
He also lifted one CAF Super Cup, Telkom Knockout, Nedbank Cup and two ABSA Premiership League titles with the Brazilians prior to his move to Brighton and Hove Albion.
In Belgium, he won the Belgian Pro League with Club Brugge during a loan spell from English Premier League side, Brighton.
In 98 matches he has played for Al Ahly across all competitions, Tau has scored 24 goals and provided 23 assists. This season, he has scored on four occasions in 22 matches including in the CAF competitions, the Premier League, African Football League, FIFA Club World Cup, Egypt Cup and Egyptian Super Cup
