Pablo Franco shares his thoughts on possible departures at AmaZulu
AmaZulu FC head coach Pablo Franco Martin has responded to reports linking some of his players with possible moves away from the club.
Riaan Hanamub and Tshepang Moremi are some of the names being linked with clubs such as Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, respectively.
Hanamub and Moremi have featured constantly for Usuthu this season and talks of possible moves come as no surprise.
WHAT THE INTEREST IN AMAZULU FC PLAYERS MEAN TO THE HEAD COACH
Martin says despite the setback of losing a quality player, the interest in his players is an indication that they are doing things properly.
“First of all, when big teams are interested in your players, it’s because you are doing a good job,” he said. “Last season, no big team was interested in signing AmaZulu players. This season, I have already read and heard that some big teams are interested [in AmaZulu players].
“Some of them are playing for us, and that means they are doing a good job. We are doing a great job helping them to be better players.
“As a coach, what I want is to have the best players all the time. This is a fact. And I also don’t want to lie to you about that,” he explained.
PABLO FRANCO MARTIN WANTS TO COMPETE
“So if you have many players who are doing well and you lose them, it’s going to be more difficult. You will need to rebuild and look at the quality of the players who are coming to replace them.
“If we want to be a big team and consistently fight for the top four, we need to keep our best players and sign better players along with the ones we have. If not, we will keep working, try to rebuild and fight,” added the Usuthu coach.
