What Sundowns’ Mosa Lebusa is expecting against struggling Richards Bay

Mamelodi Sundowns defender Mosa Lebusa has revealed what he’s expecting from struggling Richards Bay FC side.

The two sides will battle it out for three points on Tuesday evening in the DStv Premiership. Kickoff at Loftus Versfeld Stadium is at 19H30.

Heading to the encounter, the Tshwane giants are aiming to complete a double against the KZN-based side. In the reverse tie that was played in August 2023, Sundowns won 1-0.

Masandawana are the team to beat this season as they remain undefeated in the league after 18 outings. They sit at the summit of the log after collecting 46 points from 18 matches with 14 wins and four draws.

On the other hand, the Natal Rich Boys find themselves in the relegation zone. The team is 15th on the log with only 14 points from 21 matches.

Lebusa anticipates that Richard Bay will play a defending game, waiting to catch Sundowns on counter attack.

“I think most teams that we have played this season have waited on our mistakes to hit us on counters,” said Lebusa.

“I’m anticipating them to do that, but you may never know, maybe they will high press. But they know the danger of high pressing us.

“I think they are going to wait for our mistakes and try to capitalise on that.”

Lebusa further stated that their focus is on the opponent than picking out individuals who can cause them problems.

“We don’t necessarily focus on the individuals, we focus on the team. I think we should be wary of the team, Richards Bay, not individuals.

“Of course, they got great individuals, they need each other, so we need to make sure we cut the supply to whoever we feel might cause problems,” he added.
