Former Pirates star’s lack of game time at Sekhukhune explained

Sekhukhune United coach Lehlohonolo Seema has explained why former Orlando Pirates midfielder Collins Makgaka has struggled for game time since joining the club.

Makgaka joined Sekhukhune last year in October after three seasons at the Buccaneers.

He went to Stellenbosch FC for trials but failed to secure a move. The 27-year-old also failed to impress the AmaZulu FC technical team after training with them.

But Makgaka got a lifeline after signing with the Limpopo side late last year. He has only made one appearance against TS Galaxy in the Carling Knockout.

WHY COLLINS MAKGAKA HAS NOT MANAGED TO GET GAME TIME AT SEKHUKHUNE UNITED

“You will see him; he is just not in the squad but part of the squad,” said Seema. “So it’s just tactical checking on how the game is going. Where do we need to reinforce, or where do we need to get those fresh legs.

“But yeah, he is a member of the club, and he will remain part of it. As long as the season is still going on, he still stands a chance of coming in anytime.”

LEHLOHONOLO SEEMA HAPPY WITH HIS TEAM’S PROGRESS DESPITE DROPPING POINTS

With the 2-2 draw against Cape Town City FC at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday, Sekhukhune remains third in the DStv Premiership. They went into the match after a five-match winning streak in the league. But losing the winning streak is not much of a concern to Seema.

“We are still saying that in the second round, as long as you don’t lose the match, you get a point. As long as we keep collecting one point and three points, I am happy.

“It’s not even about the winning streak. We just want to take one game at a time and make sure that if we can’t win the game, then let’s not lose. That is why I am saying I could have been happier if it was a 0-0 draw because you can see the way the league is going. It’s going to be very tight.”
