Ramoreboli speaks on being earmarked for SA under-23 job

Jwaneng Galaxy head coach Morena Ramoreboli has opened up on being considered for the South Africa under-23 coaching job.

Last month, the SAFA Technical Director Walter Steenbok told this publication that the mother bodyโ€™s technical committee headed by Jack Maluleka would start engaging with Ramoreboli for the position.

He also revealed that the Free State-born coach would be assisted by Duncan Crowie, Pogiso Makhoye and Siyabulela Gwambi.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with this website a week ago, Ramoreboli stated that he hadnโ€™t been approached yet for the job.

However, he was frank that it was his dream to mentor the national team and heโ€™d be proud to continue serving the country.

He already knows the feeling having had short spells with under-17 and Bafana Bafana in the COSAFA Cup.

RAMOREBOLI HE’D LOVE TO SERVE THE NATION BUT HE ALSO RESPECTS CONTRACT WIITH GALAXY

โ€œTo be honest with you, no one has spoken to me yet,โ€ Ramoreboli told FARPost.

โ€œSecondly, as a coach in South Africa or someone that was born in South Africa, itโ€™s everybodyโ€™s dream to work with national teams.

โ€œI have worked with the Under 17, I have worked with Bafana. So, for me, serving the nation will always be something that really gives me an opportunity to grow.

โ€œAnd if it happens, I wouldnโ€™t look for something better than that. Iโ€™d be very happy to serve the nation.

โ€œBut at the moment, like I said no one has said anything to me. And I respect the fact that Iโ€™m still contracted to Jwaneng Galaxy.

โ€œAt the same time, I know that SAFA is a very professional institution. They know what to do if theyโ€™re interested in me.

“But like I said, Iโ€™ve served the nation before and I wouldnโ€™t really mind to continue serving the country.โ€
