The race for the Golden Boot is heating up as the Motsepe Foundation Championship nears its climax, with several ex-DStv Premiership stars gunning for the top scorer’s award in the second-tier league.

Magesi have collected 49 points in 25 matches, while the University of Pretoria accumulated 44 points with the same number of games played.

Meanwhile, the chase for a spot in the PSL Promotional Playoffs is also heating with Casric Stars, JDR Stars, Orbit College, Baroka FC, Upington City, Maritzburg United, and Hungry Lions fighting for the spot.
