Agent confirms imminent exit of Royal AM midfielder

With the June transfer window on the doorstep, football agent Gary Cassisa has confirmed the imminent exit of the Royal AM midfielder.

Thwihli Thwihli are expected to go all out to try and retain their best players ahead of the 2024/25 season with the side still banned from registering new players.

The KZN side’s first ban came last year after they failed to honour FIFA’s directive to pay R12 million which was owed to their former striker Samir Nurkovic.

They found themselves in the same mess again in January with the world’s football motherbody slapping them with a second ban due to a failure to pay remuneration owed to the former club’s defender Ricardo Nascimento.

Some of the Royal AM regulars will see their contracts come to an end in June. This includes the Orlando Pirates duo Thabo Matlaba and Menzi Masuku.

Meanwhile, the midfielder Shane Roberts is on the brink of partying ways with the club when his contract expires at the end of the season, his agent Cassisa revealed.

“I’m looking at other options for him for the next season,” Cassisa told FARPost.

Asked further if the player would be heading out, he added: “Yeah, he’s definitely going to finish off that contract and get him out.”

The 25-year-old signed for Royal AM in July 2022 from Cape Town City. However, he has never made an appearance since penning the deal with the Pietermaritzburg-based club.

Prior to his move to KZN, he had a six-month loan spell with TS Galaxy where he amassed five appearances.

Royal AM have already parted ways with Shaune Mogaila who was one of the regular features in John Maduka’s team.

Mogaila’s deal was also set to expire in June and his departure was prompted by a lack of agreement over the extension of the contract.
