Mojela reveals dream move amidst transfer speculation

TS Galaxy attacker Lehlohonolo Mojela has revealed his dream move amidst transfer speculation after an impressive breakthrough season in the SA elite league.

Mojela has been instrumental for Galaxy since joining the club from the Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars ahead of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.

The highly-rated midfielder has had an impressive breakthrough season in the Premiership after making 33 appearances in all competitions, netting seven goals and providing one assist.

Mojela has helped TS Galaxy secure a top-eight finish in the league with a handful of games to spare as the club fights to finish fourth. Galaxy also made it to the final of the 2023 Carling Knockout Cup, where they lost to Stellenbosch FC in December 2023.

With Mojela proving to be one of the best players in the SA’s top-flight, he has reportedly attracted interest from several teams.

Lehlohonolo Mojela wants to play for Sundowns

The 27-year-old winger opened up about his dream move, revealing that he wants to play for Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 2023/24 league champions have proven their financial strength by signing top players on the African continent and overseas.

Masandawana’s star-studded squad saw them clinch their seventh successive league title and make it to the Nedbank Cup final, where they’ll face Orlando Pirates on June 1st at Mbombela Stadium. Sundowns have also won the inaugural African Football League [AFL] after beating Wydad Casablanca 3-2 on aggregate in the final last year.

The Brazilians proved their robust approach to the transfer market in the previous transfer window by signing Thembinkosi Lorch, Matias Esquivel, Zuko Mdunyelwa, and Tashreeq Matthews.

Speaking to Andile Ncube on Metro FM, Mojela said, “I want to play for Sundowns, but for now, I’m focusing on TS Galaxy because that’s where I have a contract. I think coach Rulani [Mokwena] is a fantastic coach and Sundowns is very dangerous.”

Interestingly, Sundowns and TS Galaxy played a fiery league encounter on Tuesday at Mbombela Stadium after sharing spoils in an entertaining 1-1 draw.

The match was no short of drama, with both sets of benches involved in a squabble that had to be brought to an end by the police.
