How Ighodaro feels about not getting chance to play for Sundowns

SuperSport United forward Etiosa Ighodaro has opened up on how he feels about signing for Mamelodi Sundowns and never kicking the ball in their colours.

The talented frontman endured loan spells since joining the Chloorkop-based side in July 2021 and never got a chance to represent the DStv Premiership champions.

The 22-year-old footballer is currently at SuperSport United on a loan deal, which comes to an end in June.

Since joining Sundowns’ cross-town rivals at the beginning of this term, the Nigerian-born goalscorer has featured in 33 matches across all competitions for Matsatsantsa, scoring eight goals and contributing two assists.

Before SuperSport, Ighadaro had loan spells at AmaTuks during the 2021/22 season and Chippa United the following campaign.

The forward, Ighodaro, revealed to this publication that he’s not keen to play on loan next season, with reports suggesting that Belgian side Club Brugge are currently on the queue for the services of Sundowns forward.

ETIOSA IGHODARO ON NEVER REPRESENTING MAMELODI SUNDOWNS

Ighodaro stated that he’s not “happy” to have not represented his parent club since signing for the club, citing that he has worked hard and has the talent to get the job done.

“Well, I’m not happy because I look at my talent and how hard I work, you know,” said Ighodaro in an interview with FARPost.

“it’s not an easy thing. I go to a club that’s not my parent club and play. So, I have been on loan and I have never gone to a club and sat on the bench.

“I know that I have parted with all the clubs I have been loaned to and there’s no club that wanted me back. So, for that, I guess it is what it is.”

With all being said, Sundowns have a serious decision to make on the gifted forward when he returns to the club for the next season.
