Etiosa Ighodaro’s bold stance on next transfer

Nigerian forward Etiosa Ighodaro has made a bold stance on his next transfer as his loan spell with SuperSport United comes to an end.

At the beginning of this campaign, Ighadaro joined SuperSport on a loan deal from the DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Over the weekend, Matsatsantsa mentor Gavin Hunt revealed that the 22-year-old frontman will be returning to his parent club, Sundowns, together with goalkeeper Ricardo Goss, who’s also on loan at the club.

The talented goalscorer signed for Bafana Ba Style back in July 2021, but he never touched the ball in Sundowns colours as he has been on loan spells since joining the Tshwane giants.

Since his arrival at Masandawana, the player was sent out on loan to Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit AmaTuks, then Chippa United the following [2022/23 season] before his loan move to SuperSport this season.

ETIOSA IGHODARO IS NOT KEEN ON ANOTHER LOAN SPELL

Ighodaro revealed to this website that this would be his last loan, citing that he won’t keep changing teams every season as he’s looking for stability in his football career.

“I wouldn’t say I want to play on a loan again. This is my last loan. Playing on loan is actually difficult you know,” said Ighodaro in an interview with FARPost.

“So, I want to play where I wouldn’t be playing on a loan. I want to play where the team will care and won’t be thinking he is going to leave us at the end of the season.

“I want to be in a team where I can play and not be scared of losing me next season. And also, I want to play for a team with the same players the following season. Get to know each other [with the players] and know my strengths. I can’t keep on changing.”

In the current campaign, Ighodaro has managed to play 33 games across all competitions for Matsatsantsa. From those 33 appearances, he scored eight goals and contributed two assists in the process.
