Kaizer Chiefs miss out on Top eight spot
Kaizer Chiefs failed to secure a top-eight spot following a disappointing 2-0 defeat by relegated Cape Town Spurs on Saturday. Amakhosi came into the match at position eight knowing that a draw or a loss could jeopardise their chances of being amongst the top eight teams. They finished in position 10 in the DStv Premiership their worst finish in the club’s history.
It was also the last match for interim coach Cavin Johnson who is set to step down to make way for a new coach. Spurs came into the match with their relegation back to the Motsepe Foundation Championship already confirmed.
