SuperSport United part ways with highly-rated defender Keegan Allan
SuperSport United have parted ways with a highly-rated defender, Keegan Allan, as they prepare for the 2024/25 DStv Premiership season.
The 23-year-old follows veteran centre-back Siyanda Xulu, who will leave Matsatsantsa upon the expiry of his contract on June 30.
Allan’s exit comes as a surprise after he joined the club during the 2023 January transfer on a free transfer after leaving Moroka Swallows.
The SA’s junior international was among the players who left Swallows after salary disputes forced them to boycott league matches against Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns last year in December.
In his short stint with SuperSport, Allan made 11 appearances across all competitions in the heart of the defence.
Before signing with the Tshwane-based outfit, Allan featured in 10 matches in all competitions, establishing himself as one of the key players at the Dube Birds.
Allan spent two seasons with Swallows after joining the club in the 2022/23 campaign from Motsepe Foundation Championship side AmaTuks.

With PSL teams returning from pre-season to prepare for the upcoming campaign, FARPost understands that Allan has not returned to SuperSport.
Allan signed with the Spartans on a short-term deal with an option to extend, but indications are that both parties opted to amicably part ways.
Meanwhile, SuperSport United are aiming to improve on its poor performance last season, which saw it finish seventh in the log standings.
The Gavin Hunt-coached team won 11 matches in the league, drew 11 and lost eight times in 30 games. They collected 44 points and missed out on CAF Interclubs competitions.
SuperSport participated in the CAF Confederation Cup last campaign, but they fell short in the group stages.
