Keegan Allan signs for Richards Bay FC
FARPost has established that Keegan Allan has signed for Richards Bay FC following his departure from SuperSport United.
The 23-year-old defender recently departed Matsatsantsa by mutual consent after the end of a brief six-month stay at the club. Their parting ways came just before the team’s pre-season return.
Allan joined SuperSport United midway through last season after leaving Moroka Swallows due to the club’s salary issues.
He made nine appearances in the DStv Premiership and two in the CAF Confederation Cup for Gavin Hunt’s side.
RICHARDS BAY ACQUIRE KEEGAN ALLAN’S SERVICES
FARPost has it on good authority that Allan has completed a move to the Natal Rich Boyz. His contract details have yet to be disclosed.
Allan can play both as a centre-back and right-back. He will fight for the starting position against Simphiwe Mcineka, Sibusiso Mthethwa, Thabang Dube in the centre-back role and Romario Dlamini and Lwandile Mabuya in the right-back position.
RICHARDS BAY INS AND OUTS SO FAR
As first reported by FARPost, the KZN club has also signed Siyethemba Sithebe on a free transfer after he left Kaizer Chiefs at the end of his contract.
Prior to Sithebe’s arrival, they had already secured the signatures of Fezile Gcaba and Sbani Khumalo from the KZN ABC Motsepe League side Mkhumbane Classics.
The club appears set to make further acquisitions to strengthen the squad in a bid to stay away from relegation next season.
Meanwhile, Richards Bay recently bid farewell to Sanele Barns who signed with Stellenbosch FC.
Moreover, as previously reported by this publication, Abel Mabaso and Abdi Banda also left upon the end of their contracts following the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign.
Back in March, the club also released Lucky Mohomi, Mpho Mathebula, Sakhile Hlongwa and Sinethemba Mngomezulu.
