Ex-Baroka and JDR playmaker training with TS Galaxy
FARPost can confirm that former Baroka FC and JDR Stars playmaker Ntiyiso Bombi is currently training with TS Galaxy as the new season looms large.
Bombi was in the books of JDR in the just-ended Motsepe Foundation Championship season.
The 23-year-old midfielder joined the Nditsheni Nemasisi-owned club in the January transfer window period, a few days after cutting ties with Bakgaga, where he had only played five games.
With the Tzaneen-born footballer struggling to get game time at Baroka, the two parties succumbed to a decision to go their separate ways on mutual consent.
Bombi had signed for Bakgaga in January 2022 from the Marumo Gallants reserve team that was competing in the DStv Diski Challenge [DDC]. The promising rising star had penned a three-year deal with an option to extend for a further two seasons at Baroka.
With his short stint at JDR, Bombi added the much-needed value to the side’s attacking options, helping them finish in position five with 46 points after 30 games in the 2023/24 season.
As a result, JDR missed out on qualifying for the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs with only one point behind Baroka, who finished third on the table.
TS GALAXY IMPRESSED WITH NTIYISO BOMBI
According to close sources, the Rockets are open to offer Bombi a deal as the club continues to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
This doesn’t come as a surprise following the club’s clear out of seven players. The players are Bernard Parker, Vuyo Mere, Lindokuhle Mbatha, Vasilije Kolak, Higor Vidal, Orebotse Mongae and Lehlohonolo Mojela, who is heading to Stellenbosch FC.
Meanwhile, Galaxy have signed Khulumani Ndamase, who plays as a central midfielder from Kaizer Chiefs Reserve side.
Ndamase was one of Amakhosi’s standout players in the DDC. The talented central midfielder will be expected to continue his satisfying displays in Galaxy colours in the new season.
In addition, the Mpumalanga-based outfit signed striker Victor Letsoalo on a two-year contract following his departure from AmaZulu FC.
