Casric Stars rope in ‘Sly’ Mosala and Peter Koutroulis

Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars have bolstered their technical team with the addition of coach Selaoetse ‘Sly’ Mosala and veteran administrator Peter Koutroulis ahead of the new season.

This publication understands that the well-travelled mentor, Mosala, will serve as an assistant at Casric Stars.

Mosala is not new to the club; he is returning after his departure in November 2021, when the team was still competing in the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League.

Last season, Casric finished seventh on the Motsepe Foundation Championship table with 43 points after 30 games. In those 30 matches, the side secured 11 wins, 10 draws, and 9 losses.

Mosala boasts a lot of experience when it comes to coaching, having been with clubs such as AmaTuks, Polokwane City FC, Black Leopards, the now-defunct Free State, TS Sporting, Eswatini giants Mbabane Highlanders, and Sekhukhune United.

The club will aim to challenge for automatic promotion in the upcoming season. They missed out on qualifying for the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs, finishing five points behind Baroka FC, who finished third on the table.

Casric have also acquired the services of veteran administrator Koutroulis. The latter recently parted ways with Magesi FC after helping the team gain automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership.

Koutroulis joined the Limpopo club at the beginning of the just-ended Motsepe Foundation Championship season, where he served as a technical advisor.

FARPost gathered that Koutroulis tendered his resignation at Magesi after the two parties couldn’t reach an agreement.

Koutroulis’ experience will come in handy for Casric, having served as the administrator at teams such as Mamelodi Sundowns‚ Black Aces, Thanda Royal Zulu‚ Chippa United, and Pretoria Callies.

Casric will be hoping that the veteran administrator will help the team gain promotion to the SA elite league as he has done with Magesi.
