FN Rangers trio assessed by PSL side

Motsepe Foundation Championship side Hungry Lions are assessing Western Cape’s FN Rangers trio of Zunaid Dollie, Dondre Gordan and Katiso Mokoena ahead of the new season.

Rangers were one of the teams that participated in the 2023/24 ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs held in Upington, Northern Cape, last month.

The SAFA Western Cape ABC Motsepe League outfit had a bunch of talented players who showcased their capabilities during the national playoffs.

To prove that, their winger Giovanni Philander has already secured a move to the DStv Premiership. Philander signed for Chippa United, with the club confirming the news a few days ago.

The duo of Gordon and Mokoena play as midfielders and will be hoping to secure professional contracts with the Northern Cape club.

Dollie, on the other hand, plays a defender. The promising Dollie put in a good shift for the Rangers in the right-back position, featuring in all of their games. It goes without a doubt that Dollie was one of the solid defenders at the national playoffs.

Meanwhile, Stars of Africa Football Academy defender Francis Zanedane is also training with Hungry Lions.

Last campaign, Hungry Lions finished in position eight in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after collecting 42 points from 30 outings. In those matches, the side won 11 games, drew nine, and lost 10.

With the new season fast approaching, Hungry Lions will be expected to strengthen their squad with quality players to achieve their ultimate goal of gaining promotion to the SA elite league.
