How Selaelo Rasebotja is adapting to life at Pirates

Newly signed Orlando Pirates midfielder Selaelo Rasebotja has shared his personal experience adjusting to life with the Soweto giants.

Rasebotja made a dream switch from SuperSport United where he spent four years after graduating from the School of Excellence.

He became the third player to make a move from SuperSport to Bucs since last season after Patrick Maswanganyi and Thalente Mbatha.

The 23-year-old made his first appearance for the club last week. The Sea Robbers are in Spain where they are having their pre-season camp.

The talented midfielder started the friendly match against English Championship side Plymouth Argyle and came off at half-time.

In strengthening the squad ahead of the new season, the Bucs also acquired the services of Angolan star Gilberto from Petro Luanda and goalkeeper Ethan Khel from NC Professionals.

The midfielder says he getting used to the club each day and it will only get better by being on the pitch with his teammates.

“I’m really excited to join a big club like Orlando Pirates. It’s getting better day by day,” Rasebotja told the club’s media department.

“From the first day, the guys welcomed me well. As time goes on, I’ll get used to them and we’ll gel on the field. It’s a work in progress. We’ll take it one day at a time.”

“I was really excited when I found out that Pirates was interested in me. Every footballer’s dream is to play for a big club.

“For an institution like Orlando Pirates to enquire about my services is a big career move, and I looked forward to it with enthusiasm and excitement.”
