Black Leopards make decision on Zimbabwean striker

Motsepe Foundation Championship side Black Leopards have made a decision on Zimbabwean striker Clive Augusto ahead of the new season.

A fortnight ago, FARPost reported that the 29-year-old footballer was being assessed by the Limpopo club with the aim of securing a deal with Lidoda Duvha.

Last campaign, Augusto was playing for Chicken Inn in the Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League.

WHAT DECISION HAS BEEN TAKEN BY BLACK LEOPARDS?

This publication can confirm that Augusto has signed a two-year deal with ‘Hasha Mulilo’. The Zimbabwean frontman is expected to add value to Leopards’ attacking options for the upcoming season.

Augusto is not new on SA soil, having signed for former Premiership side Maritzburg United back in August 2019.

The goal-scorer joined the Team of Choice from Chicken Inn, where he had impressive displays, scoring 14 goals in 17 appearances in just eight months stay at his former club.

During the 2020/21 term, he was sent out on a loan deal to Uthongathi FC. The following season, he went back to Zimbabwe, where he joined CAPS United.

Augusto also had his fair share of play with Ngezi Platinum in his native country, Zimbabwe.

The Zimbabwean forward is expected to flourish under the tutelage of Maxwell Konadu, who joined Leopards as the new coach on a three-year contract.

Meanwhile, Lidoda Duvha are also assessing Ghanaian striker Abdul Rahman. He was plying his trade in the Ghanaian Premier League for Legon Cities FC.

Leopards intend to fight for automatic promotion to the Betway Premiership as they continue to strengthen their squad.

In the last term, Lidoda Duvha finished in position 10 after amassing 37 points after 30 matches.

Speaking to this website in a recent interview, the club’s spokesperson Lucky Tshilimandila noted that they aim to better their position from the last season under the guidance of Maxwell Kanadu.
