Dribbling wizard Mthokozisi ‘Dancing Confidence’ Ndali, Collins Makgaka, Abdi Banda, Siphelele Mthembu and Khurishi Mphahlele’s son Seboledi are amongst the new signings unveiled by Baroka FC on Saturday.
The club announced the new players at their village in Lebowakgomo, Limpopo.
Ngcobo was signed from AT Mambas where he was playing in Kasi football tournaments. Mthembu was at fellow Motsepe Foundation Championship side Pretoria Callies, while Makgaka spent a season at Betway Premiership club Sekhukhune United. The unveiling included the announcement of Mafori Group as the new sleeve sponsor.
WHO ARE THE REST OF THE BAROKA FC NEW SIGNINGS?
Abdi Banda has also returned to the club after spending time at Richards Bay. Bonginkosi Makume has officially returned to the club after leaving Upington City. Former captain Olaleng Shaku has also been roped in after a few weeks of training.
Willem Motupa, Seboledi Mphahlele, David Matshipi, Surprise Nhlabathi and Tshepo Mohui are the other players unveiled by the club.
Some of the players who parted ways with the club at the end of last season include Mfanafuthi Shozi, Matome Mathiane, Sekela Sithole, Lehlohonolo Nonyane, Lifa Hlongwane and Boalefa Pule.
MAFORI GROUP HAS PARTNERED WITH MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP CLUB
Financial Services company Mafori Group have now also been confirmed as the new sleeve sponsor for the club. They have signed a three-year partnership with Baroka.
Baroka boss Khurishi Mphahlele maintains this season the club wants an automatic promotion back to the SA elite league. He says there is nothing to celebrate about qualifying for the promotion playoffs.
“I would not celebrate the playoffs. I didn’t celebrate the playoffs last season,” said Mphahlele.
“We want the championship. We are a team that is able to conquer. If we are able to win against the top teams, why can’t we also win against teams at our level? We must win the league; we want to be number one, nothing else.”
