AmaTuks land Sundowns defender on loan
Motsepe Foundation Championship side AmaTuks have secured the services of Mamelodi Sundowns defender Siyanda Msani on loan for the 2024/25 season.
The Tshwane-based side is preparing to make another strong push for automatic promotion to the Betway Premiership after finishing as runners-up in the second-tier league last season.
Magesi FC won the league title to seal the promotion to the elite league.
Tuks had another chance to gain promotion through the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs. However, they lost out to Richards Bay FC, who retained their status in the SA top-flight.
In the previous campaign, AmaTuks won 12 games in the league, drew 13 and lost five times. They collected 49 points in 30 matches.
Despite missing out on promotion, AmaTuks produced good individual players who have been snapped up by top-flight teams.
Tuks lost Sikhosonke Langa and Delano Abrahams, who signed for Limpopo teams Sekhukhune United and Magesi FC, respectively. They also sold their first-choice goalkeeper, Edward Maova, to Golden Arrows.
MSANI JOINS AMATUKS ON A SEASON-LONG LOAN
With the Tlisane Motaung-coached team looking to fill the gaps in their squad, they signed Siyanda Msani on a season-long loan.
The talented left-back, with impressive abilities in defence and attack, is an outright replacement for Langa. Msani spent the previous season on loan at Cape Town Spurs in the Premiership when they got relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
The 23-year-old struggled for game-time at CT Spurs after featuring in 11 matches across all competitions. The Urban Warriors preferred Rushwin Dortley in the left-wing back position.
Dortley has since completed a high-profile move to Kaizer Chiefs who are in a bid to bring back the glory days under the guidance of new head coach Nasreddine Nabi.
Interestingly, Msani is on his third loan spell with Tuks after turning out for the club during the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons.
The SA junior international also had a loan stint with Richards Bay FC in the 2023/23 season, where he made 25 appearances.
Msani gained promotion to the Mamelodi Sundowns senior team in 2020 but faced tough competition from players such as Terrence Mashego, Aubrey Modiba, and Devine Lunga.
