Motsepe Championship side part ways with their captain
Despite leading the club to a promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship, Kruger United captain Roggert Nyundu has parted ways with the club.
Nyundu was part of the Kruger side, which gained promotion from the SAFA ABC Motsepe League during the national playoffs.
The former Black Leopards and AmaZulu FC striker was a notable absentee when the club recently unveiled their squad for the season.
Speaking to FARPost after the playoffs, the 36-year-old had promised to continue with his scoring form when the club was still in the ABC Motsepe League.
NO CONTRACT FOR CAPTAIN OF THE MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP NEWBIES
“Listen here, brother. You know in life, when you take the negativity in life, you tend to lose everything,” he said at the time.
“For me, the people that had doubted me are the people that made me strong. For me, it was just about the hard work that I put behind the doors.
“As it stands, I am saying to the mighty lord to give me strength. I am hoping that I am still going to score a lot of goals. Just like I did this season when I scored 15 goals.”
WHERE IS ROGGERT NYUDU HEADING TO AFTER LEAVING KRUGER UNITED?
This publication has since gathered that the striker has now joined another ABC Motsepe League side Phezulu FC who are based in Mpumalanga.
They are the same club that recently announced the appointment of former Bafana Bafana international Kagisho Dikgacoi only for him to leave a few days later with reporters suggesting that he is headed to Golden Arrows.
Meanwhile, Kruger United began life in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with a 1-1 draw against Hungry Lions. They will play their first home matches of the season when they host Durban City at Kanyamazane Stadium on Sunday.
