Shandre Campbell scores his first goal in Belgian First Division B
SA left-winger Shandre Campbell scored his first goal in the Belgian First Division B for Club NXT following their 2-2 draw with Patro Eisden last night.
Campbell joined Club NXT from Tshwane-based outfit SuperSport United in July 2024. The youngster started his European adventure at Club NXT, which is the youth academy of Club Brugge.
When Brugge signed the talented SA-born winger, the Belgian side noted that Campbell’s acquisition lines up well with the club’s ambition to recruit and develop young talent with a tailored programme and coaching.
The Matsatsantsa product scored an equaliser for his new side in the 75th minute of the showpiece.
He came off from the bench to secure Club NXT a point away from home. Campbell played for 18 minutes in last night’s game.
This was Campbell’s appearance for Club NXT, having been on the bench for their first two matches of the league.
The 19-year-old seems to continue where he left off last season with his stellar performances that he produced for his former club, SuperSport.
Campbell had an amazing season with Matsatsantsa in the last term, as he featured in 30 games across all competitions.
This was after he was promoted to the SuperSport senior team in July 2023. He made his debut for the Gavin Hunt-coached side when they defeated Richards Bay FC 2-0 in a DStv Premiership tie in August last year at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
