Sead Ramovic’s assessment on Siphesihle Maduna
TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic has shared his assessment of the club’s new signing Siphesihle Maduna who made his debut this past weekend.
The midfielder came on in the second half of the match against Richards Bay FC in the Betway Premiership opener at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday.
The 24-year-old joined the Rockets this transfer window after parting ways with Cape Town Spurs who were relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Ramovic is confident he can bring out the best in the former AmaZulu FC man having not been at his peak in the last two seasons.
While acknowledging Maduna’s technical abilities, the Galaxy coach emphasised the need for improvement defensively and indicated that the player would be given time to regain his fitness.
SEAD RAMOVIC’S THOUGHTS ON SIPHESIHLE MADUNA
“We’ve shown in the last two years where we brought a lot of players, brought out the best out of them,” said Ramovic. “If we didn’t, they wouldn’t have gone to the best clubs in the league.
“Maduna is a very, very skilful player but he didn’t play too much in the last two, three seasons.
“And now we have to slowly [allow] him to adapt in terms of the intensity, space and everything because my team, we like to attack the opponents in every moment if we have the ball or lose, or if the opponent has it, we want it.
“I believe that defending is the first offensive action we have to do. This is what we do, but it takes a lot of fitness.
“But he is a great guy, he has a great character, and hopefully, he can continue to improve. He can be one of our key players.”
