WHAT JOMO SONO SAID ABOUT HIS NEW ROLE

Sono expressed his enthusiasm for his new role. “I feel humbled,” Sono told FARPost. “I feel good about being appointed. I’ll give it my best shot, as I did on the technical committee of FIFA for four years. I served on the board of PSL and the technical committee of SAFA.”

He explained his role within the BRICS Sports Development Centre. “My role is to advise them and guide them about matters relating to arts and culture and football as well. Also, to help a lot with development,” he added.

The BRICS Sports Development Centre is confident that Sono’s input will contribute significantly to its mission. Since its formation in 2006 and South Africa’s membership in 2010, BRICS has expanded its international alliances, developmental goals and trade partnerships, demonstrating its commitment to fostering cooperation and progress.

The upcoming festival, with Jomo Sono’s involvement, promises to be a landmark event, highlighting the power of sports to unite and inspire while also facilitating cultural exchange and economic opportunities.
