‘I’m not hungry where I am’: Mammila speaks after Baroka dismissal

Morgan Mammila has given an update about his future following his sacking from the Motsepe Foundation Championship side Baroka FC.

The administrator-turned-coach cut ties with the Limpopo-based club after overseeing only two matches in the 2024/25 season.

Bakgaga ba Ga-Mphahlele had a poor start to the season, drawing 1-1 with Orbit College in their league opener before suffering a significant 4-1 defeat to Upington City FC.

Subsequently, the club’s management had a meeting with Mammila and the technical staff to express their dissatisfaction with the team’s performance. Thereafter, the two parties went their separate ways.

When asked about the lessons he grasped from being the sole head coach at Baroka, Mammila Mammila expressed a preference to refrain from discussing the recent experience with the Kurishi Mphahlele-owned side.

MORGAN MAMMILA ON BAROKA FC BRIEF SPELL

“There are certain things in life you don’t want to talk about,” said Mammila in an interview with FARPost.

“I don’t think I want to speak about Baroka. In life, there are certain things that you can speak about, and there are certain things that you rather just keep quiet.”

He highlighted that he is in a stable financial position, having received satisfactory salaries throughout his tenure at Chippa United.

MAMMILA – ‘I WAS PAID WELL AT CHIPPA’

“I haven’t knocked on any door right now, this is the perfect time for me to reflect back,” he added.

“It’s the perfect time for me to look at things that I didn’t have time to look at.

“Fortunately, I was being paid well at Chippa. So, I’m not hungry where I am.”

Speaking about the next move, he stated that he would be open to various jobs having previously held roles in coaching, administration, and as a technical director.

“I’m open for anything as long as it’s in football,” he concluded.
